The National Heritage Museum in Lexington, Massachusetts is a museum with an emphasis on American history and Freemasonry. It also contains the Van Gorden-Williams Library & Archives, a Masonic research library. The museum was founded and is funded by the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite, an appendant body of Freemasonry. Because of this connection, the museum's legal name is Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, Inc.
The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday 10:00AM to 4:30 PM and features general interest galleries with changing exhibits about American history and culture, Massachusetts history and industry, decorative arts, and Lexington's role in the American Revolution. Parking and admission are free.
The museum signage has undergone several name changes over the years. It was Museum of Our National Heritage, then National Heritage Museum. In 2013 the signage changed again to its legal name Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library.
