Danforth Art, (renamed from Danforth Museum in 2013 to reflect its dual function as a museum and a community art school) was founded in 1975. It is located 20 miles west of Boston in Framingham, Massachusetts.

The museum's permanent collection focuses on American Art from the 18th-Century to the present, and includes work by Gilbert Stuart, Charles Sprague Pearce, Eastman Johnson, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Albert Bierstadt, and Thomas Hart Benton, as well as work by the Boston Expressionists and contemporary artists such as Faith Ringgold, Richard Yarde, and Jason Berger.

The museum also maintains a full exhibition schedule of contemporary art.

Danforth was named an Outstanding Cultural Organization by the Massachusetts Arts Education Collaborative, and director Katherine French earned a leadership award. Director French was also profiled for her leadership at Danforth in Art New England.

The school offers classes and workshops to adults and children; subjects taught include painting, printmaking, photography and ceramics.
